The Genesis of Avesnes Shipping: Born from an audacious idea between two colleagues, our journey has transformed into a significant concept destined to revolutionize waterborne transportation.

With decades of experience in the maritime industry, we have been at the forefront of building super yachts, dredgers, and merchant vessels, ensuring meticulous attention to detail in our blueprints and maintaining exceptional quality standards.

Throughout our careers, we have observed numerous innovations that have made hybrid and electric shipping feasible. The technology for this eco-friendly transportation already exists, yet its application in shipping has been overlooked. This sparked a crucial question: why aren’t such ships exist yet? Our response was decisive — we would build them ourselves. Leveraging our deep knowledge, skills, and experience, and incorporating insights from various perspectives, we developed a balanced concept. Now, our focus is on driving the green transition in the shipping industry.

Huib Roozemond – General Manager
Has a multifaceted background in the maritime sector, encompassing mechanical engineering with a focus on ships, ship management, and superintendency. This expertise is complemented by experience in commercial sales, encompassing both short and deep sea shipping operations, as well as proficiency in shipbuilding. This diverse skill set provides a comprehensive understanding of the shipping industry from technical, operational, and commercial perspectives.

George Beute – Technical Manager
Has a comprehensive background in the maritime sector, with expertise in electrical engineering, shipbuilding, and mechatronic engineering. Experience in commissioning, along with roles in service and warranty supervision, electrical department management, and commercial sales. This diverse skill set highlights a blend of technical and commercial proficiencies.

Michael Houdijk – Senior Strategic Advisor
Possesses a broad background in the maritime industry, encompassing mechanical engineering specifically for ships, expertise in both short and deep sea shipping, and shipbuilding. Additionally, experience in ship management, as well as in the specialized areas of claim and insurance management. The skill set is further rounded out by a proficiency in commercial sales, demonstrating a versatile understanding of both the operational and business aspects of the shipping sector.
